Having submitted a report to the European Commission on the completion of tasks assigned to the university in connection with being awarded the distinction of HR Excellence in Research, the University of Gdańsk received a statuette to confirm the fact that it has received this exceptional logo, a mark of the highest standards in scientific research and the employment of researchers.

I have always maintained that women have two projects: the one with which they’re involved at work and the other one, a family project. In the work project they find themselves at different levels while in the family one, they are usually both, managers and chief executive officers.

who passed away on 3 May 2018.

The University of Gdańsk has hosted a delegation from the Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno. The aim of the visit was to discuss extending cooperation between the two universities.

Dr hab. Marta Koval, associate professor, and Prof. Dr hab. Marek Wilczyński talk to Magdalena Nieczuja-Goniszewska about the only free study project in Poland for candidates from Ukraine.

- In 2014, following Kiev’s Maidan and in connection with the difficult situation in Ukraine, you decided to start an initiative which resulted in free admission to the University of Gdańsk for 15 students from Ukraine. Not many universities decided to make a similar gesture of support.

Directors of International Offices from 21 universities in Finland visited University of Gdansk on April 24th. The aim of the meeting with UG staff working with international students and programs was to exchange expertise on attracting and retaining talent from Middle East, Africa and Asia. The group discussed sensitive ethical and intercultural issues of dealing with recruiters, language requirements, financial support for non-EU students.

On 7 March 2018 members of Forskerforbundet, the largest trades union in Norway which brings together researchers and other employees of universities and higher education institutions, paid a visit to the University of Gdańsk.

With present and prospective students in mind, as well as those with an interest in our university, the University of Gdańsk has launched a virtual guide to the UG Campus in Oliwa.

The guide offers virtual walks across faculty and other university buildings as well as the external grounds of the Campus in Oliwa.

On 31 January 2018, the Rector of the University of Gdańsk, Dr hab. Jerzy Piotr Gwizdała, associate professor, and the Rector of Yogyakarta State University, Prof. Dr Sutrisna Wibawa, M.Pd., signed a bilateral cooperation agreement.

The exchange with Indonesia, an innovation leader in the region, will concern visiting professors, researchers, trainees and students. Cooperation will involve interdisciplinary research projects and, most importantly, an exchange of good practice in the field of tertiary education, based on innovative pedagogy.
