On 8 February 2019 the University of Gdańsk hosted a delegation from the East Kazakhstan State University. Representatives of both universities, Prof. Dr hab. Piotr Stepnowski, UG’s Vice-Rector for Research and International Cooperation, and Prof.

The University of Gdańsk presented its educational range at an information stall during the Gala of the Pomeranian Ranking of General and Technical Secondary Schools Perspektywy 2019, held on 7 February 2019 at the Auditorium of the Gdańsk University of Technology. During the ceremony the ten best general and technical secondary schools from the Pomeranian Voivodeship received awards.

Postnatal depression affects around 13 – 20% of women. Despite the fact that it is an important public and social health issue, there is a lack of opportunity for such care in Poland.

On 25 January 2019 an academic symposium was held at the Faculty of Management of the University of Gdańsk on the subject of challenges in health care. The event took the form of a platform where an exchange of knowledge, opinion and experience took place between the academic world, the creators of legal and economic solutions and health care practitioners. The debates were a moderated discussion involving representatives of various circles.

In the international ranking Quality of Life Index 2019 the City of Gdańsk came 88th and is the best assessed Polish city. The ranking considers parameters such as safety, air pollution, cost of living and time spent on commuting to work. The quality of life in particular cities is assessed by Internet users.
