prof. Beata Pastwa-Wojciechowska

Professor Beata Pastwa-Wojciechowska, the head of the Department of Personality Psychology and Forensic Psychology of the Institute of Psychology was appointed a member of the Polish Accreditation Committee (PKA) for a term of 2020-2023. The new PKA members were given their appointments by the Minister of Science and Higher Education Jarosław Gowin on 5th December 2019.

Three University of Gdańsk Professors received the University of Gdańsk Medals at the University of Gdańsk Senate session on 28 November, 2019, namely:

The University of Gdansk Institute of Informatics new building opening ceremony took place in the presence of the invited guests, students and employees of the Faculty of Mathematics, Physics and Informatics. The building is the state-of-the-art facility, one of the few such in Poland. It houses lecture halls, workrooms and science labs that meet teaching and research challenges of the XXI century. The new building started operation in October, this year.

Professor Wiewiórowski

Dr Wojciech Wiewiórowski from Legal IT Department of the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Gdańsk has been appointed by LIBE Commission of the European Parliament as the European Data Protection Supervisor. On 28 November, 2019 this choice was approved by the Conference of Presidents of the European Parliament and COREPER 2 Council, who are jointly responsible for the selection of the Supervisor.

On the 7th of November in Brussels the DECLARATION ON THE ESTABLISHMENT OF THE EUROPEAN UNIVERSITY OF THE SEAS "SEA-EU" was signed. From the University of Gdańsk side the document was initialed by prof. Aneta Oniszczuk-Jastrząbek and prof. dr hab. Piotr Stepnowski. European Universities is an international programme of the European Commission that encourages the building of alliances of European universities. 

CIMA

On 30 May 2019 the Letter of Intent was signed on future cooperation between the University of Gdańsk and the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA). The agreement was signed on behalf of the University of Gdansk by Vice-Rector for Development and Cooperation with Business and Industry, Professor Krzysztof Bielawski, and on behalf of CIMA by Jakub Bejnarowicz, regional director, Europe, CIMA.
