the ceremonial opening of the University of Gdańsk’s EcoPark

Unique plants and a site connected with relaxation, with the conservation of endangered species and with learning – all this adds up to the exceptional quality of the University of Gdańsk’s EcoPark which will serve not only university students and employees but also residents of the Tri-City. The opening ceremony of the Maciej Płażyński University of Gdańsk EcoPark was attended by invited guests and pupils of Tri-City schools.

The Senate of the University of Alba Iulia (Romania) has awarded Prof. Jakub Stelina, Dean of the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Gdańsk, the title of Doctor Honoris Causa. 

 

6th National Science Centre Days

The 6th National Science Centre Days have come to an end. The meeting was jointly organised by the Technical University of Gdańsk, the University of Gdańsk and the Medical University of Gdańsk.

On the 5th of June 2018, The Vice-Rector of the University of Gdańsk prof. Piotr Stepnowski hosted a Delegate of the President for European Universities (University of Cadiz) prof. Jose A. Munoz-Cueto.

The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the possibilites for future academic cooperation in the field of exchange of students, employees, academic staff as well as joint research and publications.

Scientists from Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz

Prof. Piotr Stepnowski, Vice-Rector for Research and International Cooperation, met with lecturers from the Institute of Film, Drama and Empirical Cultural Studies of the Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz (Johannes Gutenberg Universität Mainz). Prof. Michael Simon, Dr Oliwia Murawska, Dr Sandra Keßler and Dominique Conte M.A. visited the University of Gdańsk as part of the project History and revival of Kashubian Culture”.

Agreement between Tri-City higher education institutions

Tri-City higher education institutions ─ the University of Gdańsk, the Polish Naval Academy and the Technical University of Gdańsk, have signed an agreement on joint activities and projects regarding broadly defined state security. The agreement aims to devise and implement innovative solutions concerning the development of state security and particularly Polish marine areas, infrastructure and maritime navigation.

computer lab opened at the Faculty of Management

Another state-of-the-art computer lab with 30 computer stations for didactic use has been officially opened at the Faculty of Management.

At present the Faculty of Management boasts a total of 13 fully equipped and air-conditioned computer laboratories comprising:

  • 4 laboratories with 20 computer stations,
  • 8 laboratories with 30 stations,
  • 1 laboratory with 6 stations.

The laboratories are used by students of all the fields of study offered by the Faculty of Management:

From 19 to 21 April 2018 Dominika Brulińska from the Erasmus International Exchange Office and Aneta Czepułkowska from the UG’s Admissions Office took part in the international fair Osvita ta kar'era in Kiev, the most popular education fair in Ukraine, attended by a large number of visitors.
