On 25th January at the Pomeranian Voivodeship’s Marshal’s Office the signing took place of updated Agreements for Smart Specialisations of Pomerania. On behalf of the University of Gdańsk the agreements were signed by the Vice-Rector for Research and International Cooperation, Prof. Dr hab. Piotr Stepnowski.
The university is a partner in two of four Smart Specialisations of Pomerania i.e. Offshore and port and logistics technologies (ISP 1) and Medical technologies for diseases of affluence and old age (ISP 4).
Cooperation in the field of smart specialisations has so far resulted in many interesting projects and initiatives, also involving the University of Gdańsk.
To date, over 800 million PLN has been allocated to research and development projects in the four Pomeranian specialisations, as part of the 2014-2020 Regional Operational Programme for the Pomeranian Voivodeship.
For many years the Pomeranian Voivodeship has been developing an innovation ecosystem, bearing in mind that this is a long-term process which requires consistency and a rapid response to the needs of partners and regional stakeholders.
The signing of the updated agreements allows the University of Gdańsk to continue its participation in European programmes financed as part of the Pomeranian Smart Specialisations.
