After a four-year gap, we have the pleasure of inviting Tri-City students to another ‘Muzyczne UGięcie’ event. This is the sixth edition of a project started in 2011, in which 5 albums have been released featuring over 50 bands from the Tri-City and environs.

Prof. Dr hab. Piotr Skowron and Dr hab. Sylwia Rodziewicz-Motowidło, prof. UG, have won the “Modern materials technologies - TECHMATSTRATEG" competition, which is part of the Strategic programme for scientific research and development work by the National Centre for Research and Development (NCBiR).

Once again the National Science Centre has announced the results of its flagship competitions, OPUS and PRELUDIUM. Researchers have received funding to the amount of nearly 400 million PLN for research projects as part of fundamental research.

Out of 78 applications submitted by employees and doctoral students of the University of Gdańsk, 12 received funding. The total amount for the University of Gdańsk stands at 4,878,435 PLN.

The following projects have received funding as part of the OPUS 15 competition:

Project entitled “Obszary aktywności społecznej polskich migrantów w Niemczech. Studium porównawcze Berlina i Hamburga” (“Areas of social activity of Polish migrants in Germany. A comparative study of Berlin and Hamburg”) is aimed at determining the nature of the presence and social activity of Polish immigrants in urban space and comparing the social behaviour and forms of participation in public life of Poles resident in Berlin and Hamburg.

The project entitled “Zwalczanie superbakterii opornych na antybiotyki nakierowane na odpowiedź ścisłą za pomocą związków ‘anty-persister’ ’’ (“Fighting antibiotic-resistant superbugs with anti-persister compounds targeting the stringent response”) has received funding as part of the Joint Programming Initiative on Antimicrobial Resistance.

The Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA) has announced the results of the selection procedure for applications submitted for the Polish Returns programme. From amongst 102 project applications assessed, the 22 best projects, which received at least 90 of a maximum 100 points, have been recommended for funding. The University of Gdańsk will receive funding to employ three Polish scientists who for the last three years have been employed at foreign universities or research institutions:

During a meeting of the Monitoring Committee for the Interreg Baltic Sea Region Programme, 31 most promising transnational projects were selected.
