Professors Grzegorz Węgrzyn and Elżbieta Niemirycz from the University of Gdańsk have been chosen to represent the Polish academic world in group mentoring work (so-called wise men/women) as part of the Baltic Sea Network project. The University of Gdańsk will be the flagship Polish university in this project and one of several in the Baltic region.

The 6th International Weigl Conference on Microbiology will take place between 8-10 July at the UG’s Faculty of Social Sciences. The conference is organised by a team led by Prof. Dr hab.Grzegorz Węgrzyn, head of the Department of Molecular Biology at the UG’s Faculty of Biology.

European Journal of Transformation Studies on the ERIH Plus list

The European Journal of Transformation Studies, published by the Georgian think-tank Europe Our House has been placed on the ERIH Plus list.

The periodical is co-published by the University of Gdańsk’s Institute of Political Sciences. The position of editor-in-chief is occupied by Professor Dr hab. Arkadiusz Modrzejewski, who works at the institute.

dr Karol Horodecki

An article by Dr Karol Horodecki from the University of Gdańsk’s Institute of Informatics and the National Quantum Information Centre has been published by the prestigious scientific journal Nature Communications.

The world’s leading scientific centres have been conducting intensive research into providing long-distance quantum communication by means of so-called maximally entangled quantum states.

Alicja Dżuryk MA, a doctoral student at the Faculty of Law and Administration’s Department of Theory and Philosophy of State and Law, was a member of a delegation to the 13th Congress on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice organised by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), held in the Qatari capital, Doha.
Three scientists from the University of Gdańsk have made it to the final of the government programme “Top 500 Innovators”.  Congratulations!
