International Baltic Conference on Financial Law

Between 21─24 April 2017 Gdynia and Copenhagen hosted the 4th International Baltic Conference on Financial Law entitled “Financial Law and the Challenges of the 21st Century”, organised by the Department of Financial Law of the UG’s Faculty of Law and Administration, the UG’s Centre of Self-Government and Local Financial Law, the Faculty of Law and Administration of the Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński University in Warsaw, the Department of Financial Law and Economics of the Faculty of Law of the Masaryk University in Brno and the Regional Accounting Chamber in Gdańsk.

Alliance

The fourth partners’ meeting as part of the ALLIANCE Project (INTERREG BSR) was held between 3─5 April 2017 in Gothenburg (Sweden). The project brings together partners from the Baltic Sea Region interested in so-called blue biotechnology. The meeting was hosted by one of the main Partners in the ALLIANCE Project – the University of Gothenburg.

Innovative Aquaculture

On 29 March 2017 the Institute of Oceanography of the University of Gdańsk hosted a seminar entitled “Innowacyjna Akwakultura” (“Innovative Aquaculture”), organised as part of the InnoAquaTech project “Cross-border development and transfer of innovative and sustainable aquaculture technologies in the South Baltic area”, financed from EU funds as part of the INTERREG South Baltic Cross-Border Cooperation Programme.

Interreg Baltic Sea Region Alliance

On 3-5 April 2017 in Gothenburg (Sweden), the fourth ALLIANCE (INTERREG BSR) Partner Meeting took place. The project brings together blue biotechnology actors from across the Baltic Sea Region (BSR) to develop innovative marine biotechnology based products and services. The event was hosted by one of the ALLIANCE project partners – the University of Gothenburg.

Interreg South Baltic

On 16 February 2017 a symposium entitled “Baltic Sea Resources as a Potential for Biotechnology” was held at the University of Gdańsk’s Rector’s Office. The meeting was organised as part of the Baltic Blue Biotechnology ALLIANCE (Interreg Baltic Sea Region Programme) Project in which the University of Gdańsk is a partner.

The event, which lasted several hours, was an invitation to exchange knowledge and views, and to initiate cooperation as part of an international project.

Interreg

As the ALLIANCE project partner the University of Gdansk is organising a one day symposium entitled “Baltic Sea Resources – Potential for Biotechnology”. The event will take place on 16th of February in the Rectorate Building of the University of Gdansk (8 Bazynskiego street, Gdansk, room 411).

UG’s Technology Transfer Centre

On 21 October 2016, as part of the German Week in Gdańsk, the University of Gdańsk hosted workshops on the health protection policy, entitled “HealthCAMPUS – Innovative Health Solutions”, co-organised by BioCon Valley GmbH from Greifswald in Germany and the Technology Transfer Centre of the University of Gdańsk. Amongst the active participants in the event were the University’s Vice-Rector for Development, Prof. Dr hab. Krzysztof Bielawski and the acting Director of the Technology Transfer Centre, Dr Karol Śledzik.

Interreg

On 15th November 2016 at the Institute of Oceanology of the Polish Academy of Sciences (IO PAN) an open EurOcean conference took place entitled “Facilitating Transnational Usage of Europe´s Marine Research Infrastructure”. The event was a part of the 16th Steering Committee Meeting of the European Centre for Information on Marine Science.

BalticBlueBio

The ALLIANCE Project (INTERREG BSR) invites all interested in cooperation in blue biotechnology to participate in the #BalticBlueBioAlliance Matchmaking Event, that will take place during 26–27 October 2016 in Helsinki.

Istanbul

The plenary debate ‘Polonya Günleri 2016’ at Istanbul University was opened by a representative of the University of Gdańsk’s Faculty of Languages, Dr Małgorzata Klinkosz from the Institute of Polish Philology with a lecture on the role of nomenclature in creating an image of Turkey and the Turk in Poland: “İzlenimler ve Adlandırmalar Bağlamında Çağdaş Polonya Toplumunda”.
