For the third time the Faculty of Economics of the University of Gdańsk has been invited to participate in the ACCA Accelerate programme. This means that students of the Finance in companies specialisation due to commence their studies in the academic year 2015/16 will be exempt from ACCA exam fees (paid to ACCA) and from the fees for the first year of their studies. As a result, the only fees to be paid to ACCA are the entry fee and the fee for the second year of study.

As the EU Council presents its position on the 2016 budget to the European Parliament today, the European University Association (EUA) welcomes the widespread support in the Parliament for the Horizon 2020 programme from a series of committees, including the leading Committee on Budgets as well as the Committees on Industry, Research and Energy and Economic and Monetary Affairs.

The registration process is now coming to an end for a new journal on the Polish market - The Polish Journal of  Criminology, published by the UG’s Faculty of Law and Administration together with the Index Copernicus.

Rok Matematyki

On the initiative of the University of Gdańsk, the Pomeranian Regional Assembly has declared 2015 the Year of Mathematics in Pomerania. This is a first for Poland. The events planned for the occasion are designed to popularise mathematics and to combat the negative stereotypes associated with this branch of science. The University of Gdańsk has prepared competitions, TV shows, maths matches, lectures, workshops and meetings for pupils at all levels of education.
