According to the ranking list of projects qualified for funding as part of the 27^th National Science Centre (NCN) competition, announced by NCN coordinators, 16 applications submitted by University of Gdańsk employees and doctorate students have been granted funding to the total amount of 13,120,959 PLN.

As part of the OPUS competition:

1. Dr Katarzyna Grzyb from the Intercollegiate Faculty of Biotechnology, project entitled Immunogenic properties of the epitopes of the NS3 protein of the hepatitis C virus in a fusion with hepatitis B small surface protein, funding awarded 1,410,400 PLN;
2. Dr Joanna Nakonieczna from the Intercollegiate Faculty of Biotechnology, project entitled The effect of antimicrobial photo-inactivation on the virulence of strains of Staphylococcus aureus which colonize patients with atopic dermatitis: in vitro and in vivo studies, funding awarded 949,300 PLN;
3. Dr hab. Alicja Węgrzyn from the Faculty of Biology, project entitled Biological study of the effectiveness and safety of phage therapy based on a model of chicken infections caused by Salmonella strains, funding awarded 2,019,500 PLN;
4. Dr Monika Glinkowska from the Faculty of Biology, project entitled Mechanisms for the coordination of the bacterial cell cycle ─ DiaA, funding awarded 1,033,400 PLN;
5. Dr hab. Magdalena Gabig-Cimińska from the Faculty of Biology, project entitled Research into the molecular bases of lysosomal activity regulation, a potential target for therapeutic intervention in inflammatory skin diseases, on the basis of psoriasis, funding awarded 1,999,400 PLN;
6. Dr Adam Sieradzan from the Faculty of Chemistry, project entitled Coarse-grained modelling of biochemical processes involving protein from the point of view of the granular structure of water and lipids, funding awarded 570,200 PLN;
7. Dr hab. Magdalena Wysocka from the Faculty of Chemistry, project entitled A new class of cell-penetrating peptides. Design, synthesis, mechanism, funding awarded 843,000 PLN;
8. Dr hab. Piotr Perkowski from the Faculty of History, project entitled Communism, Solidarity and the crisis of modernity, funding awarded 188,440 PLN;
9. Dr hab. Lech Czerniak from the Faculty of History, project entitled A Neolithic roundel in Nowe Objezierze. Social and cosmological aspects of cultural change at the turn of the 6^th and 5^th centuries BC, funding awarded 1,319,500 PLN; 
10. Dr hab. Eng. Konrad Ocalewicz from the Faculty of Oceanography and Geography, project entitled: The dynamics of telomerase and telomeric DNA in rainbow trout with growth disturbance and a disturbed process of gonadal development, funding awarded 756, 069 PLN; 
11. Dr Agata Weydmann from the Faculty of Oceanography and Geography, project entitled HIDEA ─ Hidden plankton diversity in the European Arctic, funding awarded 1,399,490 PLN. 

As part of the PRELUDIUM competition:

12. Patrycja Parnicka MSc, from the Faculty of Chemistry, project entitled New REOF@TiO2 type nanomaterials with a potential application in photocatalytic processes, funding awarded 201,560 PLN; 
13. Marek Kobylański, MSc Eng. from the Faculty of Chemistry, project entitled Spatially oriented TiO2 nanotubes modified with conductive copolymers for hydrogen generation, funding awarded 139 580 PLN; 
14. Łukasz Golon MSc from the Faculty of Chemistry, project entitled Mapping of coarse-grained models of nucleic acids with the NARES-2P field for all-atom representation, funding awarded 99,600 PLN; 
15. Agata Olechnowicz MSc from the Faculty of Economics, project entitled Avoiding information when taking a decision concerning long-term saving, funding awarded 134,120 PLN; 
16. Patryk Lipka-Bartosik MSc Eng. from the Faculty of Mathematics, Physics and Informatics, project entitled Quantum effects in thermodynamics: the role of the vacuum state and a measurement in the paradigm of thermal operations, funding awarded 57,400 PLN. 

As part of the OPUS competition funding was also awarded to employees of the Medical University of Gdańsk, the Intercollegiate Faculty of Biotechnology UG&MUG: Dr hab. Patrycja Małgorzata Koszałka, project entitled The role of CD73 (ecto-5'-nucleotidase) in the processes of promotion and progression of breast cancer and its assessment as a therapeutic aim and Dr hab. Rafał Sebastian Sądej, project entitled The role of FGFR2 in the regulation of autophagy in breast cancer ─ a prognostic implication.
