On 1 March 2018 the Research and Implementation Laboratory of the Department of Biotechnology of the Intercollegiate Faculty of Biotechnology UG & MUG was the first at the University of Gdańsk to receive certification to confirm the implementation of the quality management system in accordance with the PN-EN ISO/IEC 17015:2005+Ap1:2007 norm (Quality Certificate no. 1/3/2018/LAB).

PN-EN ISO/IEC 17015:2005+Ap1:2007 is a norm of the quality management system, devised in order to standardise the technical and quality management requirements for research and testing laboratories. The implementation of the system is confirmation of the competences regarding the research, measurement and calibration conducted.

The certification to confirm the implementation of the quality management system (ISO) was obtained with the help of resources for training secured by the Intercollegiate Faculty of Biotechnology UG & MUG as part of the MOBI4Health project entitled: “Center of Molecular Biotechnology for Healthy Life – Biotech solutions bringing health to living organisms and environment supported by mass spec-focused research platform”. The project was financed as part of 7PR UE (FP7-REGPOT-2012-2013-1).

The system was implemented by a research team comprising:

• Dr Marta Potrykus – quality head at the Research and Implementation Laboratory,
• Dr Eng. Wojciech Śledź – technical head at the Research and Implementation Laboratory,
• Agata Motyka MSc. – deputy quality head at the Research and Implementation Laboratory,
• Sabina Żołędowska MSc. – deputy technical head at the Research and Implementation Laboratory.
