On 31 January 2018, the Rector of the University of Gdańsk, Dr hab. Jerzy Piotr Gwizdała, associate professor, and the Rector of Yogyakarta State University, Prof. Dr Sutrisna Wibawa, M.Pd., signed a bilateral cooperation agreement.
The exchange with Indonesia, an innovation leader in the region, will concern visiting professors, researchers, trainees and students. Cooperation will involve interdisciplinary research projects and, most importantly, an exchange of good practice in the field of tertiary education, based on innovative pedagogy.
The UG Rector has been invited to Yogyakarta, the most important and the oldest academic centre based in Indonesia’s former capital, as part of the INDOPED project, financed by funds from the Erasmus+ Programme. A team of UG employees is involved in the project as experts in modern academic education and is responsible for the assessment of the implementation at five Indonesian universities of such education methods as gamification, innovation camps, incubators and tutoring, as well as other means of educating future researchers and entrepreneurs linked to cooperation with the business environment.
