In the 12th edition of the Verba Veritatis competition the University of Gdańsk has been distinguished for its contribution to increasing the level of knowledge and competence in the fields of business ethics, corporate social responsibility (CSR) and corporate governance. Among those distinguished were also six other universities whose students had entered the most papers in all the previous editions of the competition.
The prize pool for the winners of the 12th edition of the Verba Veritatis competition (authors of the best works on the subject of business ethics) included 32,000 zloty, a training package from the National Chamber of Statutory Auditors and publication in the Responsible Business Forum. There has been a total of 272 competition entries from 53 universities across Poland during the 12 editions of the competition. During this year’s awards ceremony, on the initiative of the Conference of Financial Companies in Poland, the universities whose students had entered the most papers in all the editions of the competition received distinctions. The universities were the Warsaw School of Economics, Wrocław University of Economics, the University of Warsaw, Poznań University of Economics and Business, the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Torun, the University of Lodz and the University of Gdańsk.
The University received a certificate of appreciation for its contribution into increasing the level of knowledge and competence in the fields of business ethics, corporate social responsibility (CSR) and corporate governance, which serves in promoting ethical conduct among students and the realisation of the principles of responsible development in business and society. Between 2005-2017 the University entered 12 papers for the Verba Veritatis competition.
About the competition:
The competition’s objective is to raise the level of knowledge and competence in the fields of business ethics, corporate social responsibility (CSR) and corporate governance among young people who are just entering the job market, thus increasing their contribution into building up social capital. The competition is addressed to students and graduates of Polish public and private universities, authors of BA, MA, doctoral, postgraduate or engineering dissertations. Winners receive cash prizes.
The thematic scope of the competition:
The organisers of the competition are the Conference of Financial Companies in Poland and Kozminski University. The announcement of results and the prize-giving ceremony took place on 16 November 2017 in Warsaw.
