UG winners in MINIATURA 1

In August 2017, the Coordinators of the National Science Centre announced the ranking for projects which had qualified for funding as part of the December 2016 MINIATURA 1 competition for single research activities. Amongst the prize winners are:

  1. Dr Natalia Gruba from the Faculty of Chemistry for the project "Research into the Substrate Specificity of the NS2B-NS3 Protease of the Zika Virus” – awarded 45,485 PLN;
  2. Dr Joanna Różycka-Tran from the Faculty of Social Sciences for the project “Social Antagonism in the Minds of Peoples and Cultures of the World” – awarded 20,350 PLN;
  3. Dr hab. Justyna Siemionow from the Faculty of Social Sciences for the project "An Analysis of a Work Programme for the Family of a Socially Maladjusted Child in Perhekuntoututuskeskus Lauste, Turku, Finland, and the decisive factors in its effectiveness” – awarded 9,861 PLN;
  4. Dr Katarzyna Węgrzyn from the Intercollegiate Faculty of Biotechnology for the project “An Analysis of the Interaction between ORC Protein and Single-strand Origin Region DNA: An Initial Study” – awarded 33,000 PLN;
  5. Dr Klaudia Nowicka from the Faculty of Oceanography and Geography for the project "Survey into the Perception of Mennonite Cultural Inheritance and its Application in the Opinion of Residents of the Żuławy Wiślane” – awarded 6,600 PLN;
  6. Dr Wioletta Żmudzińska from the Intercollegiate Faculty of Biotechnology for the project "Mini Fluorescent Protein (MFP)" – awarded 25,740 PLN;
  7. Dr Natalia Miękus-Purwin from the Faculty of Biology for the project "Improvement in the Analysis of Trace Amounts of Neurotransmitters in Biological Material through the Coupling of Ionic-Liquid-assisted Microextraction and Capillary Electrophoresis with Laser-induced Fluorescence”– awarded 49,500 PLN;
  8. Dr Hanna Furmańczyk from the Faculty of Mathematics, Physics and Informatics for the project "Modelling Problems with the Aid of the Chromatic Graph Theory: r-equitable and Related Models of Graph Colouring" – awarded 22,682 PLN;
  9. Dr Magdalena Oset from the Faculty of Biology for the project "The Effectiveness and Significance of Thin-Layer Chromatography (TLC) and High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) in the Detection of Lichen Secondary Metabolites on the Basis of Lobaric Acid” – awarded 34,705 PLN;
  10. Dr Anna Marlena Synak from the Faculty of Mathematics, Physics and Informatics for the project "Concentration Characteristics of the Anti-Cancer Drug Valrubicin" – awarded 40,700 PLN;
  11. Dr Łukasz Haliński from the Faculty of Chemistry for the project "Determining the Dynamics of Change in the Chemical Composition of Surface Wax on the Leaves of Selected Species of Arable Solanaceous Plants at the Initial Growth Stage” – awarded 24,365 PLN;
  12. Dr Agnieszka Maria Kaczmarczyk from the Faculty of Biology for the project "Devising Tools to Allow an Insight into the Genetic Structure of the Species: The Identification of Polymorphic Loci of Microsatellite DNA in the Freshwater Hemipteran Aphelocheirus Aestivalis Fabricius, 1803 (Insecta, Heteroptera)" – awarded 49,995 PLN;
  13. Dr Aleksandra Wierucka from the Faculty of Languages for the project "The Impact of Professional and Educational Mobility on Native Youth on the Formation of Identity and Planning for the Future based on the Example of the Huaorani People of East Ecuador" – awarded 31,586 PLN;
  14. Dr Anna Wcisło from the Faculty of Chemistry for the project “Modification of the Gold Electrode in Order to Determine the Activity of Selected Enzymes of the Group of Proprotein Convertases” – awarded 49,500 PLN;
  15. Dr Małgorzata Rymarzak from the Faculty of Management for the project "Real Estate Management of Public Higher Educational Institutions in Poland" – awarded 35,467 PLN;
  16. Dr Katarzyna Szalewska from the Faculty of Languages for the project “Latency in the Works of Tadeusz Kantor" – awarded 21,208 PLN;
  17. Dr Aleksandra Bielicka-Giełdoń from the Faculty of Chemistry for the project “The Application of Ionic Liquids in Obtaining Bismuth Semiconductors Modified with Carbon Nanostructures of Enhanced Photocatalytic Activity in the Visible Spectrum” – awarded 49,500 PLN;
  18. Dr Anna Aleksandra Panasiuk from the Faculty of Oceanography and Geography for the project "The Functioning and the Natural and Anthropogenic Variability of Key Elements in the Antarctic Trophic Network" – awarded 34,100 PLN;
  19. Dr Marcin Boryczko from the Faculty of Social Sciences for the project "Governmentality in the Social Care System: An Empirical Study of the Technology of Power in Social Welfare Centres” − awarded 9,900 PLN;
  20. Dr Aneta Maria Lewkowicz from the Faculty of Mathematics, Physics and Informatics for the project "In Situ Synthesis of the Luminescent Probe Matrix of 1,8-Diazafluoren-9-one in the Form of a Thin Titanium Dioxide Film" − awarded 49,500 PLN;
  21. Dr Beata Maria Walter from the Faculty of Biology for the project "Role of Glycogen Metabolism Enzymes and Deoxyribonucleotides in Controlling the DNA Replication Process in Bacteria” − awarded 49,500 PLN;
  22. Dr Aleksandra Naczk from the Faculty of Biology for the project "Assessment of the suitability of the method of fluorescent in situ hybridization (FISH) in the study of the evolution of the Dactylorhiza incarnata/maculata polyploid complex” – awarded 32, 945 PLN;
  23. Dr Adrianna Renata Kilikowska from the Faculty of Biology for the project "In search of crypticity” – awarded 49,827 PLN;
  24. Dr Monika Anna Mioduchowska from the Faculty of Biology for the project "Molecular identification of endosymbiotic species of bacteria in the endangered freshwater mussel Unio crassus (Philipsson 1788): a metagenomic analysis” – awarded 49,907 PLN;
  25. Dr Ewa Katarzyna Wons from the Faculty of Biology for the project "A new mechanism of initiation of bacterial programmed cell death” – awarded 49,489 PLN.
