New projects for the National Science Centre’s BEETHOVEN competition

On 5 October 2017 the results of the second BEETHOVEN competition were announced for Polish- German research projects in the areas of Humanities, Social Sciences and Arts and selected Exact and Technical Sciences. The competition is organised by the National Science Centre in conjunction with the German Research Foundation (Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft; DFG).

The competition received 155 applications for funding for joint research projects implemented by Polish-German research teams, from which Polish-German panels of experts selected the best 38 projects. Among the winners are:

  • Prof. Dr hab. Piotr Stepnowski, Vice-Rector for Research and International Cooperation with the project "Mechanistic approach for estimating and modelling the bioconcentration potential of charged and ionogenic organic chemicals via in vitro, in vivo and in silico methods" (“Ocena potencjału biokoncentracji organicznych związków jonowych I jonogennych metodami in vitro, in vivo oraz in silico”), which received funding to the value of 1,371,980 PLN
  • Dr hab. Wiesław Marek Laskowski, prof. UG, with the project "Quantum correlations - from few to many particles" (“Korelacje kwantowe - od kilku do wielu cząstek”), with funding to the value of 1,233,700 PLN.
