Graduates of the University of Gdańsk have come second among the highest earners in an annual salary ranking of graduates of state universities in the All-Poland Salary Survey prepared by Sedlak & Sedlak. Graduates of the University of Warsaw took first place, with students from the Jagiellonian University coming third. The report covers gross salaries earned in 2016 by graduates of second-cycle studies from 18 Polish universities. In 2016 the so-called median for graduates of second-cycle studies of the University of Gdańsk was 4,500 PLN.
In 2016, 145,782 respondents participated in the All-Poland Salary Survey, including 17,649 with the title of M.A. awarded by a Polish state university. Their median salary was 4,200 PLN gross. Half of the respondents earned between 3,000 and 6,320 PLN gross.
Those with the highest median salary in 2016 were graduates with an M.A. from the University of Warsaw (5,500 PLN gross), with University Gdańsk graduates in second place (4,500 PLN gross) and Jagiellonian University graduates in third (4,430 PPLN gross).
Sedlak & Sedlak, which amongst others offers HR guidance, has been running this largest non-governmental survey of salaries, the All-Poland Salary Survey, for many years, with salary reports published at the website wynagrodzenia.pl.

Analysis of earnings with regard to various criteria
The report has also revealed that graduates of full-time studies earned more. In their case the difference in range of median salaries amounted to 427 PLN. The analysis also shows median salaries for selected sectors. The highest earners were those with an MA title working in the IT sector (6,000 PLN), while the lowest earners included those working in the science and education sector (3,349 PLN), the public sector (3,310 PLN) and miscellaneous services (3,300 PLN). More than a half of those surveyed worked as specialists, with a median salary of 4,100 PLN. Almost one in five of those who took part in the survey was employed as a regular employee or head, with median salaries of 2,800 and 6,325 PLN gross a month respectively. By contrast, only 6.3% of those surveyed worked as directors or held positions in company management boards.
