The Financial Ombudsman is a new institution established to protect the rights of clients in the financial market. The Scientific Advisory Committee is an advisory body with the Ombudsman in matters relating to the protection of clients of financial services. It brings together individuals from the world of science representing different fields of knowledge and research centres, including Prof. Anna Jurkowska-Zeidler from the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Gdańsk, who has been appointed Vice-Chair.

Amongst other things, the Committee will initiate cooperation with the academic environment, carry out analyses of the Ombudsman’s programmes of activity and present analyses and assessments of selected aspects of the protection of the financial market clients. The inaugural meeting of the Scientific Advisory Committee was held on 11 January 2017 at the Financial Ombudsman’s office.
