The University of Gdańsk has signed a cooperation agreement with the Social Insurance Institution (Zakład Ubezpieczeń Społecznych), thus combining science and practice and opening up a way to mutual undertakings in the future. The agreement was signed on 4 October 2016 at the University of Gdańsk.
The subject of the agreement is partnership cooperation in the fields of didactic, developmental, academic and research activity, as well as implementing joint projects relating to social insurance. The cooperation aims to combine science and insurance practice, which will allow for the application and implementation of socially valuable undertakings.
As part of the agreement the University of Gdańsk has committed itself to participation in joint scientific, research and development projects, as well as consultancy and scientific consultation.
In turn, the Social Insurance Institution, as a UG Partner, has committed itself to, amongst others, conducting lectures using the University’s infrastructure, cooperation in the field of postgraduate studies, allowing the University’s undergraduate and doctoral students to conduct internships and practice in the Social Insurance Institution, conducting consultations in social insurance for undergraduate and doctoral students as well as University employees, providing substantive assistance to undergraduate and doctoral students writing theses and dissertations on social insurance, including providing access to material related to their scope of research.
The agreement was signed on behalf of the University of Gdańsk by the University Rector Prof. Jerzy Gwizdała and on behalf of the Social Insurance Institution (Zakład Ubezpieczeń Społecznych) by the institution’s Vice-Chairman Dr Marcin Wojewódka. The meeting was also attended by Dr Kamila Bielawska from the UG’s Faculty of Management, Dr Tomasz Sowiński from the Faculty of Law and Administration and by Ms Aneta Pawłowska, Director of the Gdańsk branch of ZUS.
