The Rector of the University of Gdańsk, Prof. Jerzy Gwizdała has been nominated for the title Personality of the Year in the category social and charity work. The competition is organised by the Dziennik Bałtycki. You may vote on the newspaper’s website until 12 February.
Prof. Gwizdała has been nominated for the dynamic development of the University of Gdańsk. As the newspaper further explains the nomination: “During Rector Jerzy Gwizdała’s term in office the university has been developing rapidly and achieving high positions in important ranking lists. Recently, as one of 14 Polish higher education institutions and the only academic institution from Pomerania, the University of Gdańsk featured among one thousand best universities in the world in the QS World University Ranking 2019. The university offers new, competitive fields of study and lately, following a decision by the Rector, Kashubian Ethnophilology has been brought back as of the next academic year. "
