In the latest edition of the Times Higher Education World University Ranking 2019, the University of Gdańsk ranked 6th position in Poland among 12 Polish universities and 4th position among so called “classic universities” in Poland (after the Jagiellonian University in Kraków, University of Warsaw and the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan).
The Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2019 (THE WUR) includes more than 1,250 universities from 86 countries, making it the biggest international league table to date.
The performance indicators are grouped into five areas: teaching (the learning environment); research (volume, income and reputation); citations (research influence); international outlook (staff, students and research); and industry income (knowledge transfer).
It is the only global university performance table to judge research-intensive universities across all of their core missions: teaching, research, knowledge transfer and international outlook. THE WUR uses 13 carefully calibrated performance indicators to provide the most comprehensive and balanced comparisons, trusted by students, academics, university leaders, industry and governments.
