The first thematic meeting of the UnILiON network was held in Brussels in October 2018. It focused on excellence in academic education and scientific research, with a discussion among representatives of the European Commission and higher education institutions representing the UniLion network.

The University of Gdańsk, together with other Pomeranian universities, is being represented within the network by the Pomeranian Voivodeship Regional Office, which acts as the network’s only Polish representative.

UnILiON (Universities Informal Liaison Offices Network) is an informal network of university liaison offices/agencies of higher education institutions in Brussels, which currently represent over 110 universities from all over the world. The network is used as a platform for cooperation and exchange of information.
