On the 30th of September the delegation of Ocean University of China from Qingdao boarded the research and exploration ship called Oceanograph II owned by University of Gdańsk. They were hosted by prof Waldemar Surosz, the Dean of Oceanography and Geography Faculty prof. Mariusz Sapota, the Director of Oceanography Institute. The crew of the vessel demonstrated the laboratories and equipment for marine research that can be conducted onboard. The Chinese guests appreciated the advanced technology used in the floating research center and its range of tasks to perform for advancing marine science.
On October the 2nd the presidents of both universities signed the Memorandum of Understanding to enable the future collaboration, exchange of students and staff members with the special focus on capitalizing the potential of the UG’s ship – Oceanograph II.
