Ministry of Science and Higher Education announces winners of Uniwersalia 2.1

The Ministry of Science and Higher Education has announced winners of the National Programme for the Development of Humanities Uniwersalia 2.1. There are two University of Gdańsk employees amongst them:  

  • Prof. Dr hab. Beata Możejko from the Faculty of History with the project entitled “Translation into English and publication with the Brill publishing house of the monograph Peter von Danzig: The History of a Great Caravel 1462-1475, Polish edition by the University of Gdańsk Press 2011” with funding to the value of 47,340 PLN;
  • Dr Agata Lubowicka from the Faculty of Languages with the project entitled “The English edition of the book In the heart of Ultima Thule. Representations of Northern Greenland based on accounts from Knud Rasmussen expeditions”, with funding to the value of 77,130 PLN.

The competition received 76 applications. On the basis of recommendations by the Council for the National Development of Humanities and given the high scientific merit of the projects, the Minster of Science and Higher Education has qualified 26 of the best projects for a total funding of 2,253,154 PLN.
