The University of Gdańsk is among one of three universities nominated for the Elsevier Research Impact Leaders 2017 Award in the category of Humanities (alongside the University of Szczecin and the University of Rzeszów).
Elsevier has launched a project aimed at improving the global visibility of the academic achievements of Polish universities. The project includes cooperation with leading research institutions wishing to increase their chances to receive grants, gain greater worldwide recognition and improve their level of internationalisation.
The Research Impact Leaders Award, presented for the first time in 2016, is part of Elsevier’s worldwide initiative, aimed at providing support in research and developing science in a variety of disciplines. The awards constitute a sign of recognition for outstanding research institutions which have the most prominent impact on scientific research and contribute towards a greater recognition of Polish science across the globe.
The award ceremony of the 2nd ELSEVIER Research Impact Leaders Awards was held on 27 November 2017 during a gala to accompany the conference entitled “Polish universities in a worldwide perspective – Rankins vs. the strategic management of a higher education institution”.
