During the conference Social Responsibility of Science – challenges for academic and business environment co-organized by the Polish Ministry of Economic Development and Ministry of Science and Higher Education on 16th November 2017 in Warsaw, rectors of the Polish universities are going to sign a Declaration of Social Responsibility. On behalf of the University of Gdańsk the document will be signed by Prof. Krzysztof Bielawski Vice-Rector for Development.
The conference has been dedicated to the concept of the social responsibility of science which assumes that science should serve the whole society. In accordance with that idea in all undertaken activities, universities should take every opportunity to respect social perspective, environmental protection and cooperation with various stakeholders. Social responsibility of science is also a part of the Strategy of the Responsible Development.
