Diamond Grants for University of Gdańsk students

University of Gdańsk students Klaudiusz Szczepan Czudek from the Faculty of Mathematics, Physics and Informatics and Artur Sawicki from the Faculty of Social Sciences are among the winners of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education Diamond Grant competition. The students will receive over 300,000 PLN in total to finance their own research.

The Minister of Science and Higher Education has awarded over 16 million PLN in the sixth Diamond Grant competition to finance projects of exceptionally talented students of long-cycle studies or graduates of first-cycle studies who conduct research at a high level and who can boast outstanding academic achievement.

In the sixth competition 83 successful candidates were selected whose projects were awarded a final total mark of no less than 80 points. They will receive as much as 220,000 PLN to implement their first independent research projects lasting between 12 and 48 months. During the implementation of their projects, they will be entitled to a monthly salary of 2,500 PLN.

The winners were selected from amongst 214 applicants in a two-stage competitive process.

The University of Gdańsk winners are:

  • Klaudiusz Szczepan Czudek (Faculty of Mathematics, Physics and Informatics), Iterowane układy funkcyjne (Iterated function systems), 122,222 PLN,
  • Artur Sawicki (Faculty of Social Sciences), Sprawczo-wspólnotowy model narcyzmu w kontekście związków romantycznych (Agentic and communal model of narcissism in the context of romantic relationships), 179,986 PLN.
