On 25 May 2017 the Confucius Institute of the University of Gdańsk held the finals of the 16th Polish Competition “Most do języka chińskiego” (Bridge to Chinese, 汉语桥) in which 19 students took part.
The competition is held annually in partnership with the Education Department of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Warsaw with a view to promoting Chinese culture and language across the world. It comprises three parts ─ a speech delivered in Chinese (this year’s theme being “A dream illuminates the future”), a quiz testing participants’ knowledge of China, and a presentation of a talent related to Chinese culture. The Consulate General of the People's Republic of China in Gdańsk is the patron of the event. We are happy to announce that the winner of this year’s All-Poland Competition of “The Bridge to Chinese” is Agata Kądziera, a third-year student of Sinology at the University of Gdańsk.
Ms Kądziera has qualified for the final stage of the competition which will be held in Beijing. Second place went to Marta Mońko, a student of the Confucius Institute in Wrocław, who will be taking part in the finals as an observer. Third place went to by Natalia Dąbrowska and Izabela Wysocka, third-year students of Sinology of the University of Gdańsk.
