Two students of Mathematics of the University of Gdańsk have received awards in the prestigious Józef Marcinkiewicz Competition :

• Anna Parlak (3rd place ─ ex aequo), Faculty of Mathematics, Physics and Informatics of the University of Gdańsk, article entitled: Pierwiastki ze ślizgów oraz transpozycji wstęg Möbiusa w grupie klas odwzorowań zamkniętej powierzchni nieorientowalnej; supervisor: Dr Michał Stukow
• Klaudiusz Czudek (distinction), Faculty of Mathematics, Physics and Informatics of the University of Gdańsk, article entitled: Bernstein and Kantorovich Polynomials diminish the lambda-variation; supervisor: Dr Jacek Gulgowski.
