The Kashubian Institute, the Museum of Kashubian and Pomeranian Literature and Music, the Kashubian-Pomeranian Association, the Kashubian Committee at the Gdańsk Branch of the Polish Academy of Arts and Sciences as well as Secondary School no. 1 in Wejherowo have the honour to extend an invitation to the Inauguration of the Year of Gerard Labuda under the patronage of the head of the district of Wejherowo, Gabriela Lisius, and the Mayor of Wejherowo, Krzysztof Hildebrandt, to be held on 12 January 2016 in Wejherowo.
On 21 March 1985 Professor Gerard Labuda received an Honorary Doctorate from the University of Gdańsk for his achievements in research into mediaeval Polish history, particularly Pomerania.
