Lectures by Dr Anna Panasiuk-Chodnicka in Chile

Dr Anna Panasiuk-Chodnicka from the Department of Marine Plankton Research of the Oceanography Institute has been appointed EU expert on Antarctic Marine Living Resources.

Dr Panasiuk-Chodnicka is due to take part as an expert in the 34th meeting of the Commission for the Conservation of Antarctic Marine Living Resources (CCAMLR) and the CCAMLR Scientific Committee held between 19-30 October in Hobart, Australia.

The Convention for the Conservation of Antarctic Marine Living Resources (CCAMLR) was implemented in 1982 as part of the Antarctic Treaty System. Its main aim is to protect the natural environment and preserve the integrity of the Antarctic marine ecosystem.

Dr Anna Panasiuk-Chodnicka from the Department of Marine Plankton Research of the Oceanography Institute has also been invited to deliver two lectures on the polar theme in two Chilean marine institutions, including the University of Valparaiso: “Natural and Anthropogenic Changes in the Antarctic Ecosystem with a Special Focus on Krill“ at the Montemar Institute of Marine Biology, University of Valparaiso and “Krill - the Factor that drives Antarctic Ecosystem, Science and Fisheries” to the Undersecretary of Fisheries and Aquaculture (SUBPESCA), Government of Chile.
