Easier for Foreigners in Poland to verify their education

It will be easier for foreigners to have diplomas recognised or to continue studies in Poland. The Ministry of Science and Higher Education has drawn up a regulation on the subject.

Today a new regulation has been published on the subject of recognising higher education diplomas  gained abroad and confirming completion of higher education studies at a specified level. In this way, anyone not in possession of a final diploma will be able to verify their skills with other documents such as a student book or indeks.

The regulation is for the benefit of those who have lost, or never had the chance to receive, an official document confirming their university-level education, and who were not able to obtain such a document because of the political situation in their homeland.

Institutes which provide education in the given subject will be able to begin the process of issuing these certificates, based on documents produced by the applicant, which can confirm results at particular stages of education, as well as qualifications, professional skills or professional/employment practice gained. Where differences exist in study programmes or where it is impossible to ascertain the level of education, institutions will be able to set a suitable examination.

In line with this higher education law, people including foreigners holding refugee or temporary protected status in Poland will be able to study in this country under the same conditions as Poles.
