Christmas Party

As in previous years, the International Office invited international students studying at the University of Gdansk for a Christmas meeting. International guests represented various parts of the world, including Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, Belgium, Italy, Finland, Kenya, Spain, India, Germany, Slovenia , Uzbekistan,  Italy and Slovenia. In the countryside scenery, students had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with Polish Christmas traditions.

Rector's Day

In response to the Students’ Parliament request the Rector of the University of Gdańsk announced the 20th of December a Rector’s Day.

The International Exchange Office has organised a picnic for foreign students studying at the University of Gdańsk in the academic year 2017/2018. Before the barbecue and music, students were involved in a field game around the UG Campus in which they had to tackle many interesting tasks including folk dance and Polish tongue twisters. The winners received prizes and everyone bid farewell to the academic year in the joyful atmosphere of spring. 

 

Live more

A new internet site “Live more. Pomerania” has been launched, aimed at all who want to stay in Pomerania for a while longer and find their own special place, work and home and live life to the full. It forms a part of a campaign to promote the region in Poland and abroad, organised by the Invest in Pomerania initiative.

Universities in Tricity organized special events for students from different lands who came to study here. Tricity News had the pleasure to be at the meeting for Erasmus students of University of Gdansk.

Welcome to Foreign Students photo

On 27 September 2017 the University of Gdańsk welcomed the first group of foreign students starting their studies in the 2017/2018 academic year. Our new students come from China, Nepal, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Ukraine, Russia, and also from as far away as Brazil and Mexico.

As a result of growing acts of aggression and intolerance towards foreigners, including students, Gdańsk City Hall in conjunction with Gdańsk University of Technology is organising a meeting with representatives of the Police and City Guard who will instruct students on how to react in such situations. The meeting will take place at Gdańsk University of Technology in the assembly hall of the main building on 19 May 2016 (Thursday) at 2 p.m.

Doctoral students write postulates to politicians

The Doctoral Forum of Polish Universities has formulated postulates which they have sent to the campaign headquarters of parties and coalitions as well as to candidates for the Parliament and Senate. Amongst other topics, the postulates focus mainly on the improvement of the financial situation of doctoral students and on increasing their influence over the functioning of universities.
